Comments Sought on Extreme Weather Effects on Devices

Federal Register Notice: FDA is studying the potential effects of extreme weather and natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, lightning storms, earthquakes, and fires on medical device safety and quality. The agency is seeking comments on such issues as the risks and vulnerabilities to the manufacturing chain, how products could be monitored during transport and storage in light of potential interruptions and environmental extremes, and how industry should optimize the design, production, and use of medical devices during and after extreme weather events.
