Unapproved new drugs, misbranded: The Internet labeling of the products on the Web site cause the products to be drugs. Claims include: “Gaba has been used in the treatment of epilepsy and hypertension … Gaba is effective in treating attention deficit disorder” and “Truman’s Fiber … It helps prevent colon cancer, …hemorrhoids, obesity …” The claims on many of the products indicates that they are offered for conditions that are not amenable to self-diagnosis and treatment by individuals who are no medical practitioners.
