Guidance on Environmental Impact of Veterinary Products

Federal Register Notice: FDA is releasing for comments a draft guidance entitled Environmental Impact Assessments for Veterinary Medicinal Products — Phase II (VICH GL38). This draft guidance has been developed for veterinary use by the International Cooperation on Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Registration of Veterinary Medicinal Products and provides recommendations for internationally harmonized test methods used to generate environmental fate and toxicity data. The aim of the guidance is to assess the potential for veterinary medical products to affect non-target species in the environment, including both aquatic and terrestrial species.
